Frequently Asked Questions
The following are common questions we receive from enthusiasts from around the world.
Why are there no prices on the website?
We want you to see and evaluate a complete picture portfolio, usually including a demonstration video, before making a determination on value. When we send you this information, the price and shipping charges will be quoted as well.
Do you purchase from individuals?
We usually acquire our items from the world's leading collectors, restorers and museums.
Occasionally, we will buy from individuals, and if you are interested in selling an item, we may have an interest if it is a top-quality piece.
But prior to doing so, we must have complete information from you, via email, including a complete set of photographs, location, and your asking price.
We will quickly let you know the level of our interest, and if we decline, we may also refer you to another dealer who can assist you.
Please DO NOT call us prior to submitting your email; there is no way we can evaluate your music box over the phone or give you an advance estimate of value.
Do you appraise or valuate items?
We get many requests to place a value on a musical item.
It is impossible for us to accommodate such requests, due to time and legal constraints.
Do you handle shipping?
We do all of our packing and crating, literally "in-house." This assures you of a professional, caring job, done by somebody who understands the workings (and frailties) of the item being shipped.
After years of experience shipping all over the world, we feel this is the surest and safest way to get the items delivered to your door, damage-free. We use several different, trusted carriers, depending on delivery location, and occasionally personally deliver and set up very large orders ourselves.
All international shipments are packed using materials in strict compliance with IPPC (pest control) standards, assuring that there will be no delays (or seizures) by regulatory authorities. All pallets and lumber, as required, bear the recognized code stamps so they pass through the en-route inspection processes without delay.
What is your guarantee?
We guarantee safe arrival at your home or business of the items you purchase. The standards we utilize for packing, and the carriers we select, give us the confidence to offer this extraordinary assurance, virtually unique and unheard of in the business.
Do you sell on eBay?
Yes, we do, and here is a link: eBay Sales
Please note that your costs will be higher on eBay; their commissions add to the expense, and you will also be subject to your state sales tax, which they are required to collect.
